JAG (Jobs for America’s Graduates) is a multi-year program focusing on graduation and career development. The program consists of 37 competencies centered on the exceptions for professionalism. Through this course, students will:
- Develop professional skills
- Build a resume
- Conduct job searches
- Learn and master interviewing techniques
- Meet professionals in their community
This program also helps students prepare for post-secondary education. Students will be expected to:
- Attend local colleges
- Prepare for the SATs and ACTs
- File for FAFSA
- Apply for scholarships
- Apply to colleges
Career Association:
The Career Association consists of elected officers within the program. Together, the students plan service projects in the community and school. Through the Career Association, students learn leadership skills and teamwork.
Follow-up:
Once students have completed graduation, the JAG Specialist will remain in follow-up for one year after graduation. Through follow-up care, graduates are given career support, including WorkOne career services.
